Strategy
Exploration and Development: Madagascar
The initial thrust of the Company's exploration and development activities is in Madagascar,
where the Company has acquired through PAMM, its operating subsidiary, 69 exclusive Research
Permits, encompassing 1594 Squares, each of which is 6.25 sq. kilometers or approximately 625 hectares.
In aggregate, PAMM's area under license covers approximately 9962.5 sq. kilometers and encompasses
potential gold, base metals, diamond, sapphire, ruby, and emerald properties.
The area encompassed by the Company's permits features a wide variety of topographical
and geological diversity, from mountainous regions believed to bear significant hard-rock
deposits to areas of low relief featuring numerous river systems and alluvial deposits.
Some areas are arid, semi-desert environments that are nearly treeless, while others are
rich, tropical rainforest.
Accessibility & Operations
Some areas are easily accessible by road, river or airplane, while other areas are remote
with very difficult access, by 4-wheel drive vehicle, helicopter or on foot. Grassroots
mining activities have taken place on a small scale at various times on certain of the
Company's properties, in many cases continuing today.
Geological Prospects
These property acquisitions were made by the Company and its representatives in Madagascar,
with the guidance of Management and highly qualified geologists comprising the Company's
geological team in Madagascar. Collectively, the Company's Madagascar geological team has
nearly 100 years' professional experience, much of it in Madagascar, but also in other areas.
In addition, the Company has senior staff geologists in Canada and South Africa.
Such claims reflect input gathered by the Company's geological team from personal visits
and superficial examination, information published in the Madagascar mineral inventory, data
acquired from the Geological Survey of Madagascar undertaken by the French government agency
BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres) over a period of four decades, as well as
anecdotal evidence obtained from local inhabitants concerning discoveries in their immediate environs.
Management believes its permits to be of merit, warranting further efforts at exploration
and evaluation, ultimately with a view toward development into one or more commercial mines.
Approximately one-half of the Company's properties have been identified as potential
gold-bearing properties, while the other half have been identified as potential base
metal and gemstone properties.
