Ampanefena
The Ampanefena project area, located approximately seven hundred kilometers north-northeast
from Antananarivo, occurs within the northern coastal province of Antsiranana, to the
Southeast of the Company's Andavakoera project area. The project comprises 1 graticular
block and the area under tenure totals 312.5 square kilometers. Project title is one
hundred (100%) in the name of PAMM.
Access
Access to the project area is north from Antananarivo, via daily Air Madagascar
flights, to the provincial capital of Antsiranana, then south and east, along Route
Nationale-6, and then Route Nationale-5a for a distance of approximately one hundred
and fifty kilometers, to the project area. General project infrastructure is considered good.
The project licences cover approximately thirty kilometers of the contact zone between
the Archaean basement crystalline gneiss and micaschist to the south-southeast, and the
Phanerozoic coastal sediments to the north–northwest. This contact zone is highly sheared
and faulted and contains significant gold mineralization (fig. SA-1). The Madagascar
mineral inventory has identified copper, quartz and sillimanite on the project area.
The historical Andavakoera Zone Aurifère, the Company's project area A-5, occurs
immediately to the northwest from the Ampanefena project area. Andavakoera has been
among Madagascar's premier gold producing regions, with continuous gold production
over a period of approximately one hundred years. (Direction de la Geologie, Library,
Antananarivo).
The Company considers the 30km contact zone to be highly prospective for gold
mineralization and regards the Ampanefena project area as a gold exploration target.
In addition, the Company views the geological setting as a prospective diamond exploration
target to be investigated with stream sampling program. The Company's claims in Ampanefena
are contiguous to a block controlled by BHP Madagascar Sarl.
