Berenty
The Berenty Project, located approximately five hundred and thirty kilometers southwest from Antananarivo,
occurs within the coastal province of Toliara. The project comprises seventy eight squares occurring over
two zones. The area under tenure totals over four hundred and eighty square kilometers. Project title is
one hundred percent (100%) in the name of PAMM.
Access
Access to the project area is south from Antananarivo, along the Route Nationale-7, for approximately
six hundred kilometers to a point immediately northeast of the provincial capital of Toliara, then north
along a Route Secondaire, for approximately twenty kilometers to the project area. General project
infrastructure is considered very good.
The project occurs within the western Phanerozoic coastal sediments. Rock types are mainly continental
sandstones with common areas of unconsolidated sand cover, and the area is characterized by the presence of
north- northeast trending faults. The major regional north-to-northeast trending Ivova Fault trends through
the project area. The sedimentary rock types within the project area belong to the Facies Gondwaniens and
are probably of Triassic Age (from archival data, Direction de la Geologie Library, Antananarivo). The
general region is under explored. According to the Madagascar mineral inventory, PAMM's project area
includes large gypsum deposits.
The project area is located immediately west from Madagascar’s largest sapphire fields at Sakaraha
and Ilakaka. The company considers that the Berenty Project has potential for economic precious stones
mining, including sapphires and rubies. It also considers the area prospective for diamonds.
